About Wise Intake

I work inside the supplement industry. This is the site I wish existed.

My name is Dragomir. I’m a food quality systems expert with 20 years of experience, currently working as a quality manager for a supplement company. I built Wise Intake because I got tired of watching people spend real money on products that don’t deserve it.

What I actually do for a living

I spend my days inside the supplement industry.

I review formulations, audit production processes, and check what actually ends up in finished products. I know how labels are written. I know which certifications mean something and which ones are marketing. I know which ingredients are backed by science and which ones are backed by a good PR budget.

That kind of knowledge used to stay behind closed doors. Wise Intake exists to change that.

🔬
Formulation review
Reading a supplement label is my day job. I know which forms of each ingredient are bioavailable, which doses are meaningful, and which combinations are pointless or potentially problematic.
🏭
Production process auditing
I’ve been inside supplement manufacturing operations. I know what GMP compliance actually looks like in practice, what “third-party tested” often really means, and where quality control is genuinely strong versus where it’s a marketing claim.
📋
Food quality systems
My academic background is in food science — MSc. level — combined with 20 years of applied industry experience. I bring both the theoretical foundation and the practical knowledge that only comes from working inside the system.
Why I started writing about this publicly

The gap between what the industry knows and what consumers are told is too wide to ignore.

The supplement market is worth billions. A significant part of that money goes to products that are underdosed, poorly formulated, or built entirely around marketing. I watched this from the inside for years — and I watched people I care about spend money on things that weren’t going to do anything for them.

Most supplement content online is produced by people with a financial stake in what you buy. Affiliate codes, brand partnerships, sponsored posts. The incentives are everywhere and they shape what gets said. I have none of those incentives — which means I can say what I actually think.

“The gap between what the industry knows and what consumers are told is enormous. I decided to start closing it.”

Wise Intake is my attempt to give you the same perspective I have — without the industry spin attached.

Who I write for

You don’t need to be a scientist to read this site.

You just need to be someone who wants to make smarter decisions about what you put in your body — someone who suspects that half the supplements on the shelf are a waste of money, and wants to know which half.

I write for people who are done being confused by proprietary blends, misleading labels, and influencers with affiliate codes. There are no sponsorships here. No brand deals. No products to push. Just the honest perspective of someone who has been inside this industry long enough to know where the gaps are.

The other thing you should know about me

I live in a big city with my wife and four cats.

🐱 The 4 Cats — non-negotiable participants in this project

The cats are non-negotiable participants in this project. They’ve taught me more about reading ingredient labels than any industry conference — because when you genuinely care about what goes into a body, you get serious about quality fast.

Cat food labels are, in many ways, worse than human supplement labels. The ingredients are more obscure, the standards are less demanding, and the gap between what the marketing says and what’s actually in the tin is often significant. I write about that too — under the 4 Cats section of this site.

You’ll see them here regularly. They’ve earned it.
